How the Flowery Boss Fight Works
The most important mechanic in the Flowery battle is the SOUL ability. During the fight, Kris gets the power to charge and dash through blue objects. You can hold the charge button to build speed and burst through blue barriers.
Breaking blue objects clears a path. Not only that, every destroyed object generates TP. Almost every progression mechanic during the battle depends on spending TP on ACT commands.
Keeping Susie and Ralsei alive is extremely important. Many phases in the Flowery boss fight require their assistance, and having both active lets you use stronger team ACTs.
Fill up your inventory with healing items like Green Tea before entering the Flowery boss battle. It restores a massive amount of HP and can prevent the fight getting out of control. We were lucky enough to stock up on Green Tea from the shop near the save point, and that helped us immensely in this fight
How to Beat Flowery Boss in Deltarune
To defeat Flowery, your main objective is to use ACT commands to increase Mercy and eventually push the battle forward. Depending on your preferred route, you can either use Posey or BlowAway.
- Posey requires careful timing. A small figure appears, and you have to slot it as accurately as possible for the max effect.
- BlowAway requires you to hit Z as fast as possible.
Flowery’s Attack Patterns
In the first phase of the fight, Flowery mainly uses two attacks. The first attack fills the arena with blue bamboo barriers with really small openings. Try to move carefully while dashing through. Since breaking bamboo gives you TP, try to destroy as many pieces as possible without taking unnecessary damage.
The second attack sees Flowery charging directly at the party. When he turns Blue and lunges forward, try to quickly tap the charge button just before impact to knock him backward. The timing is super tight during the faster sequences though, so we suggest spam-tapping instead of holding the charge button.
Aqua and Seth Duo
Once you’ve made enough progress, Flowery summons additional Flowers to assist him. The first pair consists of .
We tested it once with both of them and once with just Susie, and this was enough to send them packing.
Seth's attacks cover large sections of the battlefield with blue zones while scrolling text moves across the screen. Dash between safe areas and avoid forcing risky movements simply to collect extra TP.

You can collect the Green words that pop up on the screen for extra TP. It’s helpful, but remember, survival should always come first.
Aqua introduces one of the fight's trickiest patterns. Kris has to jump across moving blue lily pads while avoiding streams of knives. Charge your SOUL to reach the first platform, then carefully move between pads as they shift position.
Watch the movement of the lily pads rather than the knives. This makes the jumps easier.
Orange and Green Duo
The next pair, , continue the escalating difficulty.
To clear this phase, repeatedly use the Praise ACT with Susie and Ralsei. If both party members participate, you can beat the duo in two uses.
Orange and Flowery frequently combine attacks. One variation involves both enemies charging directly toward Kris. Successfully knocking them away prevents heavy damage, but Orange retaliates by launching white fists across the arena.
Flowery can also fake his charge and suddenly fire flames instead. Another of their attack takes you to the bamboo mechanic while adding new hazards. Small cactus plants appear among the barriers, and a massive wall of thorns slowly rises behind Kris.
Break as many bamboo stalks as possible while moving forward. If you hesitate for too long, the thorns will eventually catch up.
Blue and Yellow Duo
are the final support Flowers. In this phase, you’ll be using the Justice ACT. First, build maximum TP. Once you have enough TP, activate Justice to begin a courtroom style sequence.
During the trial, select Moss as evidence and accuse Flowery. If you complete the sequence successfully, the story advances and Blue and Yellow are removed from the battle.
Their primary attack combines exploding flowers with dense bamboo formations. I don’t recommend destroying every bamboo barrier. Instead, focus on maintaining safe positioning and only break barriers that naturally fall along your route.
Next Phase
After every supporting Flower has been removed, Flowery begins his next assault.
- He launches an upgraded version of earlier attacks, featuring narrower bamboo gaps and increasingly aggressive charge patterns.
- During one major sequence, you have to break through multiple bamboo walls and knock Flowery back four separate times.
- After surviving the attack, open the ACT menu and choose Susie's Idea. This option only appears if Susie is still conscious.
- Flowery continues using enhanced bash attacks while releasing spinning projectiles across the arena. Heal whenever necessary and continue generating TP until the story event triggers.
Final Phase
After choosing Susie's Idea, the battle transitions into its final stage. Kris is launched onto a massive plant structure covered in trellises. You have to climb up through a small maze while a wall of thorns chases from below.
Despite the pressure, the thorns move slowly enough that small mistakes are usually survivable.
At the summit, Flowery transforms into powered-up state. Thankfully, this section is considerably easier than everything that came before. The encounter becomes a side-scrolling sequence where Kris automatically runs forward.
When Flowery glows and charges, strike with your sword to knock him back. Some attacks occur at ground level, while others require jumping and slashing simultaneously.
You will usually need to repel him seven or eight times before the battle finally ends. Even if you miss, Kris has enough HP to survive multiple mistakes.
Once Flowery collapses, Chapter 5's climactic battle is complete.
